First Semester and Second Semester

Biologie 11/avancée Biologie 11 is intended for students in French immersion and follows the same course outline as Biology 11. This an academic course that begins to explore the foundation topics of the science of biology. These topics include the characteristics of life, both at the cellular and systemic level, basic microscopy, cell biology as well as the system of classification and diversity of the biological world.

The main concepts provide connections between units of study, fostering an awareness of the tremendous impact of biology and technology upon society. Throughout the course, students will be guided to develop their skills with the microscope, slide work, microbiology, dissections, research, analysis and independent thinking.

Technology

Laptop or desktop device with Windows, Mac, or Chrome OS. Webcam and headset with microphone. Access to Google Workspace for Education (GNSPES/SEPNE) or other productivity software.
