Éducation co-operative 12

Semester two. As per the Community-Based Learning Policy, students must complete an application and interview process before being registered.  Contact your school’s co-op teacher for more information and to ensure students are eligible to enroll in NSVS Co-op.

Éducation cooperative 12 is intended for students in French immersion or Integrated French and follows the same course outline as Cooperative Education 12.

Éducation co-operative 12 is designed to support learners in developing the competencies and skills necessary to successfully engage in a wide range of education and career pathways.  Co-operative education is experiential in nature, allowing learners to integrate classroom learning, personal interests, and goals with career exploration and real-world experience.

This course consists of classroom and workplace components.   The in-class instruction portion of co-op will be delivered virtually while the co-op work placement and required training will be facilitated by a school-based co-op teacher.  During the initial 4-6 weeks of this course, learning will focus on the career planning process, orientation to workplace and safety instruction.  Learners will provide evidence of their learning that represents their understanding of workplace readiness to demonstrate their preparedness to enter their work placement.  While attending their placements, learners will share and reflect on their learning in a portfolio and engage in ongoing learning through NSVS.

Additional course details and documents are available on the Nova Scotia Curriculum site’s Co-operative Education 10-12 page and on the Career Pathways website.
