IB Music

*2 Credits /Full year commitment*

Are you planning on studying music after high school? Are you looking to take a deep dive into music theory, to develop performance abilities, or to brush up on your song writing skills? Are you interested in learning about types of music from around the world? Are you just plain interested in anything having to do with music? Consider taking the IB Music SL course.

This music course offers students opportunities to explore a wide variety of music as a researcher, performer, and creator. In addition to developing music theory and analysis skills, students will select music from personal, local, and global contexts and create music portfolios. This course is ideal for anyone wishing to learn more about music or for anyone wishing to study music after high school. You do not have to be in the IB program to take this course as long as your school offers the IB program.

Additional course details and documents are available on the Nova Scotia Curriculum site’s IB Music.
