African Canadian Studies 11





First and Second Semester 

The African Canadian Studies course focuses on the history of people of African descent in Canada and covers the following topics: Evolution and Change, Elements of the African Diaspora, Impact of Colonial Expansion, Struggle and Identity, In Pursuit of Justice, The Journey Toward Empowerment.

This course also includes a module for independent study. 

This course is designed to equip students with a sound understanding of the global experience, local achievements, and contributions of Canadian people of African descent and highlights the experiences, struggles, and life stories of people of African descent who have contributed to world history.

Laptop or desktop device with Windows, Mac, or Chrome OS. Webcam and headset with microphone. Access to Google Workspace for Education (GNSPES/SEPNE) or other productivity software.
